A brilliant shot and pose of Lorraine Burnett by Russell Gay from an original print in my collection. I just love the fancy stockings and pearl necklace in this shot, plus the tin foil background, which in colour shots seems to have a multi-coloured look to it. Classic Lorraine in the way she looks and poses and this shot probably appeared in either Model or QT, both published by Gay.
Frankie Young taken by Harrison Marks in the living room of his flat in 1962. Frankie is one of the models I have very few good images of by GHM, but this one is a beauty and shows off her figure perfectly. Similar shots of Frankie around GHM’s flat appeared in Kamera No.56 (1963)
Not only a stunning figure, but a beautiful face as well, very elegant looking. Thanks to Kev for sending over a copy of this original image from his collection 🙂
One half of the Danish double act Dorte & Annlyse photographed by Harrison Marks. This shot is from the original medium format negative, but originally appeared in Kamera No.37 (1961) across pages 18 and 19 and one of the few square images that hasn’t been cropped for publication. A beauty of a shot of Dorte from every angle, giving us a front, side and rear view and showing off all of Dorte’s best bits! GHM certainly made good use of this mirrored bath with several of his models and are some of my favourite shots.
This is the final shot of 4 that comes from an Esquire colour slide set of 8 slides and was set No.48 featuring two models in two settings. There were four shots of June Simpson in a garden setting, of which I’ve now published all of them and you can see the set here.
The garden although I’ve mentioned it before is actually at Ewhurst and it’s the front lawn with the drive just in view. What a fabulous view of June kneeling in that paddling pool and a very odd but appealing set. Shame there weren’t more, as I’d love to have seen this set of photo’s expanded as there is so much potential to have with that pool 😉
